Job Goal: Next Wave Jr. High and Full Circle High are continuing a summer program for students at risk of dropping out of school. The summer program will provide a positive and fun learning environment which will address student academic needs as well as their social emotional needs addressed in their IEPs. These opportunities will greatly expand student exposure to the educational, cultural and clinical support services offered at NW/FC during the academic year.  Teachers will work with Next Wave and Full Circle students on project based learning activities. 

  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with the therapeutic model of Next Wave/Full Circle
• Experience with middle and/or high school curriculum, instruction and assessment practices
• Knowledge of Project Based Learning
• Experience with the IEP process 
• Massachusetts DOE license in Mild to Moderate Special Needs grades 5-12 
• A strong ability to build community, provide support to and motivate staff
• Ability to maintain a safe and healthy environment for students
• Strong organizational and effective communication skills
• Experience working with a team to develop curriculum and extracurricular activities

Terms of Employment:

• Seasonal/Yearly Employment
• Location: Somerville High School
• $35 per hour worked
• Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days: TBD

 

Program Schedule:

Monday through Friday

Start Date:   August 7, 2023    

End Date:  August 18, 2023 

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 2:30pm; Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm
