Description

Job Goal: To provide support for students and staff with drug and alcohol education, prevention, intervention and consultation.

 

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor preferred

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and facilitate at least Focus on a variety of alcohol and other drug related topics.
  • Oversee a student run-taskforce addressing and enforcing school AOD policies.
  • Provide psycho-education, and individualized support services. 
  • Connect to internal (SPS) or any external resources/support services.
  • Administer D/A evaluations and provide written report with risk level and recommendations.
  • Provide individualized student support to Student Services, as well as internal and external referrals.
  • Co-Supervise weekly community service group; feeding the homeless.
    • Friday afternoons, 2:30pm - 6:30pm 
  • Design and conduct several weekly groups focused on a variety of alcohol and other drug-related topics including (a) overseeing student-run taskforce (addressing and enforcing school AOD policies), and (b) processing and psycho-educational groups.
    • 4 Groups a week:
      • 2 Next Wave grades 6-8 (1 morning, 1 afternoon)
      • 2 Full Circle grades 9-12 (1 morning, 1 afternoon) 

 

Terms of Employment:

  • Part Time
  • Schedule will be based on a school year schedule (August – June)
  • Maximum of 19.5 work hours per week
  • $30 per hour worked
